About the position
We have a casual position available for an experienced Administration Officer to provide administrative support at our Burnie site, providing support when we have staff on leave.
As an Administration Officer, you will play a key role in supporting the day‑to‑day operations of our site, with a particular focus on production and maintenance activities. You’ll provide essential administrative support to ensure our operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Your responsibilities will include accurate data entry, coordinate purchasing processes, and preparing reports to support decision‑making by site management. You’ll also contribute across a broad range of administrative tasks, utilising your strong organisational skills to manage competing priorities and maintain high standards of accuracy. You will also assist with chip testing at our on-site laboratory – training for this will be provided.
This role sits at the heart of our operations, offering variety, responsibility, and the opportunity to make a genuine impact on how our site functions.
Your primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Working as part of a team to provide effective, efficient, timely and accurate administrative services
- Front-line representative, greeting visitors in a professional manner
- Managing phone calls, emails and correspondence from internal and external stakeholders;
- Ensuring the timely and accurate creation and maintenance of records and data;
- Assisting with site purchasing as well as managing the procurement of office supplies;
- Maintaining the administrative requirements of the site vehicle fleet;
- The management of ingoing and outgoing mail in a timely and accurate manner;
- Preparing and formatting documents and reports as required;
- Coordinating meetings, medical bookings and other relevant appointments.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have the following: - Previous experience working in an administrative team in an administration role in an industrial services setting is essential;
- Excellent communication skills to effectively address inquiries and provide accurate information;
- An attentive, friendly and professional demeanour at all times;
- Knowledge of purchasing systems is highly advantageous;
- Strong problem-solving skills;
- Organisation, prioritisation, and time management skills;
- Proven high attention to detail and accuracy in data entry;
- Experience with the Microsoft Office 365 suite is crucial for success in this role with strong excel skills required.
