About the Position
Our Kyogle site is filled with a welcoming and social team. We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Fitter with a strong work ethic to join us on a Permanent Full-time basis, covering Wednesday to Saturday shifts. If you enjoy working across different fixed plant equipment and machinery, we are interested in talking to you. You will report into our Maintenance Manager and will be responsible both preventative and corrective maintenance of site plant and equipment to a high standard, which will enable maximum production levels to be sustained.
We are looking for a candidate who are available to pick up a 4-day work week roster in a permanent full-time position at the below times:
- Wednesday – Saturday 5am-3:15pm
We offer a competitive hourly rate which is variable dependent on experience, as well as any additional rates based on the roster and paid overtime opportunities as and when required. As well as banking of overtime for Time in Lui purposes as per the site EA.
Key responsibilities include but not limited to:
- Working with the maintenance team to maintain production levels by ensuring fixed plant equipment is functioning correctly to work towards delivering zero production down time.
- Performing repairs and services of various fixed plant machinery including treatment plant, automatic stacking equipment, gas fired kilns, Kilns Heat plant and hot oil heating, moulders & timber transfer belts and decks.
- The use of sound judgement when making decisions regarding maintenance with due regard to employee health and safety.
- Working to ensure that any breakdown time is as short as possible, this may involve both quick fixes to ensure production is maintained and conducting thorough repairs between shifts.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Substantial experience working as a maintenance fitter working within a production or manufacturing environment.
- A qualification in Engineering - Mechanical Trade or another relevant field is essential.
- Knowledge of occupational health and safety issues and a high regard for employee safety.
- Previous experience working with hydraulics and pneumatics is highly regarded.
- Additional relevant tickets such as working at heights, confined spaces forklift license or similar are desirable.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with other fitters, supervisors, managers and other key stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with drive and commitment to complete work to a high standard whilst working alone and in a team environment.
- Willingness to adapt to changes for continuous improvement in processes.
