Our client, a leading manufacturer of high‑quality HVAC products in Buffalo, NY, is seeking a skilled Powder Coat Paint Technician to join their production team!
This is an on-site/full-time/direct hire position
Salary range based on experience: Up to $25/HR
This role is ideal for candidates with hands‑on experience in powder coating, industrial painting, or finishing operations who take pride in producing clean, consistent, high‑quality finishes. The technician will operate coating equipment, troubleshoot production issues, maintain wash systems, and ensure all safety and quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and monitor the powder coating line to ensure proper temperature, timing, and coating thickness.
- Apply powder coating materials using electrostatic spray guns, ensuring even coverage and consistent finish.
- Inspect coated parts for defects such as runs, sags, thin spots, or inconsistencies.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on powder coating equipment, including booths, guns, wash tanks, ovens, and conveyors.
- Maintain correct pH and chemical balance in wash/rinse tanks.
- Follow all safety protocols and environmental regulations, including proper handling of hazardous materials.
- Monitor inventory of powder coating materials, chemicals, pigments, and consumables.
- Maintain accurate production documentation including batch numbers, production times, and equipment issues.
- Recommend and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, reduce waste, and improve efficiency.
Candidate Profile - 1+ year of powder coat painting or industrial spray experience required.
- Strong understanding of powder coating materials, processes, and equipment.
- Ability to troubleshoot coating systems and perform basic mechanical maintenance.
- Close attention to detail with strong quality inspection skills.
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced environment with exposure to heat, dust, and noise.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training is a plus.
Schedule - Monday-Thursday: 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Friday OT (as needed): 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM
- Saturday OT (as needed): 5:00 AM - 11:00 AM
- Minimum 40 hours per week; reliable transportation required.
