Our client, one of the nation’s premier homebuilding organizations, is seeking a talented Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager to join their operations team in Lewistown, PA. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity offering direct employment with a top industry leader known for quality, innovation, and a strong commitment to workplace safety.
On-site (Full-Time, Direct Hire)
Compensation: $70,000–$85,000 base + monthly bonus (Total Compensation: $90,000–$100,000)
Position Overview The EHS Manager will oversee all environmental, health, and safety programs for the homebuilding facility. This individual will be responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, driving a culture of safety and wellness, and minimizing environmental impact. The ideal candidate is a proactive leader who can influence and collaborate across all levels of the organization — from plant management to front-line teams.
Key Responsibilities Environmental Compliance
- Maintain records and conduct activities for environmental compliance (e.g., material usage, stormwater, air permitting).
- Partner with environmental consultants and ensure all required training and inspections are completed.
- Lead ISO certification/surveillance initiatives and chair the EHS Committee.
- Serve as backup to the ISO Coordinator as needed.
Health & Wellness - Promote team wellness by partnering with coordinators on fitness, nutrition, and mental health initiatives.
- Model healthy behaviors and contribute to company-wide wellness culture.
Safety & Workers’ Compensation - Lead thorough accident investigations and complete injury/illness reports.
- Manage post-accident drug screening and First Reports of Injury submissions.
- Serve as liaison for workers’ compensation; monitor claims, loss runs, and OSHA recordkeeping.
- Oversee Return-to-Work and transitional employment programs.
- Maintain compliance with OSHA standards and company-specific safety policies.
- Conduct safety meetings, audits, and training to identify and prevent hazards.
- Administer programs such as Lockout/Tagout, Hearing Conservation, and Bloodborne Pathogens.
- Ensure First Responders are properly trained and certified.
Training & Development - Develop and deliver OSHA-required training and safety orientation for new hires.
- Keep safety manuals and policies current and aligned with regulations.
- Maintain training records and ensure all equipment operators are certified.
Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Studies, Safety, or a related field.
- 3–5 years of relevant EHS experience, preferably in manufacturing or construction.
- Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of EPA, OSHA, and state workers’ compensation regulations.
- Familiarity with ISO standards and industrial safety culture initiatives.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
