Our client in Western New York is seeking a Body Shop Advisor to join their team!
This is an on-site/full-time/direct-hire position
Salary based on experience: $20-$25/HR
As our Body Shop Advisor, you'll be the key point of contact for customers, working closely with technicians, estimators, and internal departments to schedule repairs, communicate progress, and deliver an exceptional experience. Your guidance will help customers feel confident, informed, and cared for — all while supporting the dealership's commitment to quality and efficiency. Key Responsibilities Include:
Operational Leadership
- Manage all aspects of body shop operations, including scheduling, workflow, quality control, and repair timelines.
- Oversee and coach body shop team members.
- Monitor shop productivity, efficiency, and profitability, taking corrective action as needed.
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work environment in compliance with OSHA and dealership standards.
Customer & Insurance Relations - Ensure a high level of customer satisfaction by overseeing accurate repair estimates, timely and consistent communication, and quality repair work.
- Serve as the primary contact for insurance adjusters and warranty administrators.
- Resolve customer concerns promptly and professionally.
Estimating & Repair Coordination - Oversee or assist with damage assessments, repair estimates, and work order preparation.
- Approve parts orders and ensure the timely delivery of required materials.
- Coordinate with the service department for internal repairs and reconditioning.
Financial Management - Track and manage departmental KPIs, including revenue, gross profit, cycle time, and CSI scores.
- Monitor expenses and labor costs, ensuring adherence to budget goals.
- Approve vendor invoices and manage sublet repair relationships.
Performance Metrics Include: - On-time repair completion rates.
- Customer satisfaction index (CSI) scores.
- Shop productivity and efficiency.
- Profitability and gross margin performance.
- Employee retention and engagement.
Qualifications - Body Shop/Collision Shop experience required
- Strong technical knowledge of fiberglass, gelcoat, aluminum, and paint repair processes.
- At least three (3) years of experience in a service-related position is highly preferred
- Familiarity with insurance claim handling and warranty administration.
- Customer Service Aptitude: ability to listen to customer complaints and questions
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Driver's License with an insurable driving record
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening
- Computer proficient
