This is a hybrid/full-time/direct-hire position. Salary range based on experience: $100k-$135k Base
Role Description: We are seeking an experienced Financial Controller to join our team. This pivotal role will oversee our financial operations, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and strategic financial planning to support the company's growth. Working closely with senior management, the Financial Controller will be instrumental in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and driving efficiencies across the business. This position is ideal for a financial professional who is not only adept at numbers but also strategic in financial decision-making.
Responsibilities:
Lead the preparation of financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual accounts, ensuring they are completed in a timely and accurate manner.
Manage all aspects of accounting operations, including but not limited to ledger accounts, receivables, payables, and payroll. This can extend to calling to collect invoices as well.
Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, reporting any variances and proposing corrective actions.
Ensure compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements, staying updated on industry legislation changes.
Oversee the development and implementation of internal control policies and procedures to secure the integrity of financial transactions and reporting.
Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings.
Direct and oversee the company's financial audits, providing recommendations for procedural improvements.
Analyze financial data and market trends to assist senior management in making informed strategic decisions.
Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team, fostering a culture of high performance and continuous improvement.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. A Master's degree or professional accounting designation (CPA, CMA, or equivalent) is highly preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience in a financial control or senior accounting position, preferably in the technology or public safety sectors.
Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP), financial reporting, and experience with financial and accounting reporting systems.
Demonstrated leadership ability, with experience managing a finance team.
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial management.
Proficient in accounting software and systems, with a keen interest in leveraging technology to improve financial operations.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present financial data to non-financial stakeholders.
