Our client, a decades-long manufacturer in Sanborn, NY, is seeking a skilled 2nd Shift Punch Press Operator to join its team!
This is an on-site/ full-time/permanent position
Hourly based on experience: $21-$24/HR
Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Punch Press Operator to join our production team. The Punch Press Operator will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining punch press machines to produce parts according to specifications. This role requires a commitment to safety, precision, and efficiency to ensure high-quality output that meets production schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Machine Operation: Set up and operate punch press machines, including installing dies, adjusting settings, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Production: Run production batches according to work orders, blueprints, or job specifications.
- Quality Control: Inspect finished parts for accuracy, dimensions, and quality using measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
- Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of punch press equipment, reporting any malfunctions or repair needs.
- Documentation: Accurately complete production logs, quality reports, and other required documentation.
- Safety Compliance: Follow company safety procedures and industry best practices to ensure a safe work environment.
- Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and other operators to meet production goals and resolve issues.
Qualifications - High school diploma or equivalent (technical or trade school preferred).
- Previous experience operating a Trumpf punch press or other metal fabrication machinery strongly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings.
- Proficiency with precision measuring instruments and basic math skills.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to spot defects.
- Ability to stand for long periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and work in a manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work flexible shifts and overtime as needed.
Preferred Skills - Knowledge of metal fabrication processes.
- Familiarity with CNC punch press machines.
- Experience with preventive maintenance programs.
