Our client is seeking a Quality Assurance Lead/Lab Technician to join their team!
This is an on-site/full-time/direct hire position
Salary range depending on experience: $65k-$75k
The mission of the Quality Assurance Lead / Lab Technician is to support the Lab Director and Lab Analysts in sample preparation, equipment calibration, and SOP-compliant testing, while ensuring the lab operates as efficiently and effectively as possible. This lab provides analytical chemistry, microbiology, and QA/QC testing services. The ideal candidate will be hands-on with all services while also serving as an outstanding leader and example for the team.
Competencies
- Strong collaborator, able to thrive in a high-volume production laboratory with fast turnaround times.
- Bachelor's degree in chemical, environmental, physical, or biological sciences, or engineering, plus two (2+) years of experience implementing a laboratory quality system.
- Instrument experience required: analytical balances, pipettes, centrifuges.
- Familiar with Agilent, Thermo, or Shimadzu instruments.
- Documented training and/or experience in quality assurance and quality control procedures.
Outcomes - Support the Lab Director in all aspects of high-volume lab production processes.
- Perform laboratory testing activities, including sample receiving, homogenization, extractions, weighing, and dilutions.
- Analyze samples using laboratory techniques such as HPLC, GC/MS, LC/MS, ICP/MS, and qPCR.
- Manage sample intake, data entry, and reporting through LIMS and other tools.
- Ensure customer results are delivered quickly, accurately, and in line with lab performance standards.
- Oversee lab inventory, sample storage/disposal, cleaning, and other support processes.
- Maintain, calibrate, and troubleshoot laboratory instrumentation.
- Participate in laboratory investigations and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Serve as the focal point for QA/QC, including monitoring and reviewing quality control data.
- Coordinate and/or conduct annual internal audits of the lab's quality system and testing operations.
