Our client in Buffalo, NY, is looking for a Coordinator of Accessibility Resources to join their team!
This is an onsite/full-time/contract-to-hire position
Hourly based on experience: $23-$25/HR
The Temporary Coordinator of Accessibility Resources supports students with documented disabilities by evaluating medical and psychological documentation, determining eligibility, and authorizing appropriate academic accommodations. This role involves managing in-class, coursework, and testing accommodations to ensure equal access to educational opportunities in compliance with ADA, Section 504, and institutional policies. The specialist collaborates closely with students, faculty, and external service providers and plays a key role in institutional reporting and oversight of accessibility resources.
Duties: Accommodations Management
- Review and evaluate medical and psychological documentation to determine accommodation eligibility.
- Approve and implement individualized accommodations, including:
- In-Class: Accessible furniture, adaptive equipment, notetaking support, sign language interpreting, and real-time captioning.
- Coursework: Assistive software tools and support.
- Exams: Distraction-reduced environments, enlarged print, extended time, readers, and scribes.
Office of Accessibility Resources
Accommodations - Must evaluate medical & psychological documentation

Testing Accommodations - Facilitate and schedule testing
- Coordinate with the faculty member to have the exam sent to the office
- Handle the schedule of exams and exam accommodations in place to be taken in the testing center.
- Have an exam proctor in place during testing for both group exam spaces and individual testing spaces.
NYSED Reporting - Report on Disability categories and programs that are occupationally specific or of other degrees
- Third-party servicer contracts
- Liaise with technology
Qualifications: Education: - Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in higher education, student support services, academic advising, or disability services
Experience: - Proven experience managing accommodations and academic support for students with disabilities.
- Background in coordinating testing centers, tutoring, or academic accommodations.
- Familiarity with interpreting medical/psychological documentation and applying accommodations.
- Experience in liaising with external vendors and service providers.
Skills & Abilities: - Strong understanding of ADA, Section 504, and higher education disability compliance.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
- Organizational ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
- Knowledge of assistive technologies and accessible software platforms.
- Proficient in report writing and data tracking (preferably with experience in NYSED reporting requirements).
- Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams and lead training or presentations.
