Our client is a boutique Sydney CBD practice recognised for its expertise in Family Law, Criminal Law and Wills and Estates litigation. The firm is known for clear, strategic advice and for guiding clients through complex and sensitive matters. They are now seeking a passionate and technically confident Family Law Senior Associate (or an Associate ready to step up) to join their close-knit team and contribute to a high standard of client service.
  
This role is suited to someone who enjoys working across a varied family law practice, including high complex matters across property and financial disputes, parenting, divorce, same sex, donor agreements and high conflict matters. You will play an active part in negotiations, mediations and court work and will be trusted to manage files with autonomy while being supported by an experienced and collaborative team.

Key Responsibilities
  

• Advise clients on the full range of family law matters
• Prepare clear, accurate legal documents including affidavits, agreements and court applications
• Represent clients in negotiations, mediations and court proceedings
• Develop strategic case plans and manage client expectations throughout their matter
• Maintain organised file management and meet competing deadlines
• Work closely with colleagues to support a cohesive and engaged team environment

  
Skills and Experience
  

• Minimum 5 years PQE in Family Law, up to Senior Associate level
• Strong understanding of family law legislation, court procedure and dispute resolution processes
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex issues for clients
• Confident advocate with sound negotiation skills
• Strong drafting ability and attention to detail
• Empathetic, professional and capable of managing sensitive client situations
• Excels at guiding clients through highly stressful situations with clarity, empathy and practicality
• Actively contributes to practice development and maintaining strong professional relationships
• Admitted as a solicitor in Australia with a current NSW practising certificate
