About the role
We are developing a talent pool of legal assistants seeking to work on a full-time basis only. (Part-time applications will not be considered on this occasion). We are seeking interest from candidates who are career LA’s or at the very least, wish to be in a supporting admin role for at least two years.
These positions could be in any of our key practice groups or as a Float Legal Assistant, where you get to gain exposure to all five areas:
- Dispute, Resolution & Litigation
- Construction, Infrastructure & Projects
- Property, Planning & Environment
- Workplace Relations, Health & Safety
- Corporate & Commercial
You can expect daily tasks to include:
- Opening and closing of files and matters
- File maintenance - electronic (iManage)
- Editing documents in mark up and maintaining version control
- Assisting with time entry, billing processes and preparing accounts for clients
- Meeting coordination (Outlook)
- Preparation of correspondence and various commercial/ court documents
- Preparation of excel spreadsheets & PowerPoint presentations
- General administration
About you You will be an enthusiastic, self-starter who is genuinely invested in supporting your peers and lawyers to achieve the best possible results for clients. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, a keen eye for detail and a can-do attitude.
You will have the ability manage multiple tasks, follow instructions and a strong desire to learn and contribute to a positive and collaborative work culture. You will also possess excellent organisational skills and possess strong capability in Word and picking up new technology and systems.
Successful candidates will have some prior experience as a legal assistant or within a similar role with an understanding of legal practice. Prior experience with Aderant and Expert will be highly regarded.
