About the Team
Our national Litigation & Disputes team is recognised as a market leader, with a number of practitioners acknowledged as experts in their field.
Our team includes a number of recognised experts who act for prominent institutional landlords, property owners and managers across Australia. We advise on a broad range of property and leasing disputes, delivering strategic and commercially focused outcomes for our clients.
This practice offers exposure to a diverse and challenging mix of work, including:
- Commercial, retail and industrial leasing disputes
- Misrepresentation and unconscionable conduct claims
- Refurbishment, relocation and demolition disputes
- Termination, make good, abandonment and third-party property claims
- Property development disputes
- Enforcement of landlord rights and remedies for lease breaches
- Urgent interlocutory applications, including relief against forfeiture
- Contractual interpretation and retail leasing legislation issues
- Statutory breach notices and enforcement actions
- Insolvency-related litigation, including bankruptcy and winding-up proceedings
- Sale and acquisition of land disputes
- Franchising disputes
- Alternative dispute resolution, including mediation and conciliation
The team regularly appears in State and Federal Courts, as well as specialist tribunals, providing lawyers with exceptional advocacy and litigation experience.
About the Role We are seeking an Associate or Junior Senior Associate with a minimum of 3 years' post-admission experience to join this highly regarded practice.
Working closely with partners you will play a key role in managing a diverse portfolio of property and leasing disputes. You will have the opportunity to work on complex litigation matters from strategy through to resolution, while continuing to develop your technical expertise and commercial acumen.
This role offers significant client exposure and increasing responsibility, with the autonomy expected of your level of experience while benefiting from strong partner support and mentorship.

About You To be successful in this role, you will ideally have:
- At least 3 years' post-admission experience in commercial litigation, disputes or property litigation
- Experience managing a variety of disputes, ideally including property and leasing matters
- Court appearance experience and confidence engaging in litigation processes
- Strong drafting skills across pleadings, affidavits, witness statements and other evidentiary material
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving and legal research capabilities
- Exceptional attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to effectively manage multiple matters and competing priorities
- A client-focused approach with strong relationship management skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- A collaborative mindset and willingness to mentor and support junior team members
- A proactive attitude, commercial awareness and commitment to delivering high-quality outcomes
