About the team
Our property practice is amongst the leading Australian practices and our national team works with clients on a range of transactions including renewable energy projects, property developments, tenancy pre-commitments for office and warehouse developments, complex leasing, capital transactions and land acquisitions and sales for development.
Within the Melbourne office the team is working with listed and global clients across a range of sectors including listed property groups, renewable energy developers, property developers and logistics companies.
About the role
Given the continued growth and success of our team we are seeking to recruit a lawyer with 2-4 years post admission experience to work alongside Dinh Ptok and her team.
Dinh has a varied practice which includes a range of commercial property transactions and a growing renewables practice.
Examples of the work that the team undertakes include:
Renewable energy
- Drafting and negotiating options to lease, leases, easements, call options to purchase and contracts of sale, tripartite deeds, neighbour agreements, mortgagee consents and ancillary agreements with landowners for projects such as solar farms, wind farms, battery storage facilities and other renewable energy infrastructure.
- Carbon capture projects under the ACCUs Scheme including conducting property due diligence, project development agreement and services agreement.
Property
- Commercial and industrial property development
- Leasing transactions including major tenant leasing, strategic lease structuring and helping clients to navigate potential leasing disputes
- Sales and disposals of retail, industrial and commercial properties
- Property support for business acquisitions/sales
- Land subdivisions, easements, titling issues, sales and acquisitions of land for development.

About you To be successful in the role you will possess a proven track record working on both property and renewable energy transactions for commercial clients.
More specifically your experience will include:
- Agreements for lease of commercial offices and industrial premises (for developments and existing buildings).
- Land acquisitions and leasing for renewables projects (solar farm, battery, windfarm)
- Options to purchase, options to lease, agreements for lease and leases.
- Capital transactions including drafting and negotiating contracts of sale (for vendor and purchaser) of commercial properties and sales and acquisitions of development sites
- Leasing of commercial offices and industrial warehouses
- Property due diligence for property acquisitions and preparing due diligence reports
- Exposure to easements and land subdivisions
- A working knowledge of Victorian taxes as they relate to property transactions
- Familiarity with Victorian property legislation and Victorian land titles requirements and processes.
Capabilities:
- Experience in reviewing/advising on documents and conducting negotiations (where appropriate given your level of experience)
- Excellent drafting skills are essential.
- Proven track record of delivering excellent client service.
- Ability to build and retain strong client relationships.
