About the role
The role will be to support our state managing partner as well as number of other partners and fee earners who work across mergers and acquisitions as well as commercial and corporate matters.
Given the nature of the work undertaken by the team a large component of the role will be to take a lead in the teams billing throughout the course of each month as well as in provision of general administration support.
With regard, to billing the role will involve:
- ensure that time recording is entered in a timely manner by the fee earners and where needed provide support in this regard;
- ensure that charge out rates are correct for each client on creation of a matter;
- production of WIP reports for review;
- production of pre-bills and subsequent amendments are made;
- finalise bills and post;
- where appropriate send bills to the client;
- liaising with clients and other relevant stakeholders on billing and related issues.
With regard, to general administration support the role will involve:
- opening and closing of files and matters
- file maintenance - electronic (iManage/Work10)
- editing documents in mark up and maintaining version control
- meeting coordination (Outlook)
- preparation of correspondence and various commercial documents
- preparation of excel spreadsheets
- preparation of PowerPoint presentations
- general administration

You will bring a positive, can‑do attitude and a strong commitment to supporting client objectives, willingly pitching in wherever required to ensure success. You are methodical, highly organised, and able to motivate colleagues during busy month‑end periods to keep the billing process running smoothly.
You will also demonstrate:
- A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a similar role
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel, with the ability to quickly learn new systems
- Experience using Aderant and Expert (preferred)
- Excellent client service skills
- Friendly, professional communication skills, both written and verbal
- A high level of attention to detail and excellent organisational capability
- A positive attitude and eagerness to learn
- The ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- The ability to follow instructions while also showing initiative
