About the role
We are developing a talent pool of legal assistants seeking to work on a full time or part time basis.
We are interested in those looking for permanent, temporary or contract opportunities who possess experience as a legal assistant. Included in this are those who are travelling on a Working Holiday Visa and seeking opportunities to work whilst living in Australia and to fund your travels. Ideally a commitment of 6 months is our preference but we are open to considering those available for a shorter period of time.
If you are a student seeking an opportunity we will consider you if you are in the early stages of your studies and able to commit to 4 days a week.
You can expect daily tasks to include:
- Opening and closing of files and matters
- File maintenance - electronic (iManage)
- Editing documents in mark up and maintaining version control
- Meeting coordination (Outlook)
- Preparation of correspondence and various commercial documents
- Preparation of excel spreadsheets
- Preparation of PowerPoint presentations
- Managing the billing process for your team
- General administration
About you - At least 12 months experience in a similar role;
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel with an ability to learn systems quickly;
- Experience working with Aderant and Expert (preferred);
- Excellent client service skills;
- Friendly and professional communication (both verbal and written);
- A keen eye for detail and excellent organisational skills;
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn;
- The ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team;
- The ability to take instructions and demonstrate initiative.
