About the team
Our Native Title and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander practice is led by partner Jenny Humphris, a recognised leader in native title and cultural heritage law.
Holding Redlich represents respondent parties in most native title claims across Queensland, as well as in New South Wales and Victoria. We regularly advise local governments, government corporations, developers, and both public and private sector clients on the native title and cultural heritage implications of infrastructure projects and land dealings.
This practice forms part of our broader Property and Planning group and works collaboratively across the firm.
About the role

- Supporting Federal Court native title proceedings, including appearances at mediations and case management hearings
- Advising on compliance and legislative requirements around native title and cultural heritage
- Conducting due diligence and providing assessment advice
- Drafting and assisting in the negotiation of indigenous land use agreements and cultural heritage agreements.
This is an exciting opportunity to deepen your expertise in a specialised area of law with the guidance of a highly experienced partner. You’ll also benefit from career development opportunities and gain broader exposure within our leading property and planning practice.
About you We welcome candidates with experience in native title law, as well as those looking to transition into this rewarding area of practice.
We’re looking for someone who:

- Is open to pro bono opportunities as they arise
- Thrives in a collaborative team environment
- Is willing to travel for meetings or on-country court appearances when needed
Why join us? This is a fantastic role for lawyers who enjoy both litigation and advisory work.
