This is an exciting opportunity for a high performing disputes lawyer to join our litigation practice.

About the role
We are seeking a driven and intelligent junior disputes lawyer with a strong interest in litigation and government work to contribute to a high-profile, complex matter for the Commonwealth Government. This role involves direct client engagement and collaboration within a large, focused team. You will thrive in an environment that values both independent initiative and effective teamwork, while gaining valuable experience in government litigation.
While your key focus will be on the significant Commonwealth matter, examples of the work undertaken in the wider team include:
- Acting for corporate regulators and companies in regulatory investigations and civil penalty proceedings
- Acting for government agencies in respect of judicial review proceedings
- Acting for corporate entities in regulatory dispute matters
- Acting for state and federal governments on investigations, Royal Commissions, procurement disputes and a range of advice matters
About you You will be an engaged and driven lawyer with a genuine desire to continually improve and deliver outstanding results for your clients. You will have excellent communication and drafting skills, enjoy a busy work environment and thrive in a collaborative work culture. You will be a skilled lawyer with outstanding technical ability and a desire to help those around you.
In addition, you will have:
- 1 to 4 years PAE with experience gained as a commercial litigator in a well-regarded litigation practice
- Hold or be in the position to hold a Baseline Security Clearance
- Experience in general commercial disputes
- Prior experience in investigations and/ or government disputes work will be a bonus
- Experience in engaging with a broad range of individual, corporate and government clients with the ability to cultivate successful and trusted client relationships
- Superior analytical, research and drafting skills
