About the role Our Brisbane team is seeking a corporate lawyer with 2-4 years PAE. Working closely with Special Counsel, Jeanne Vallade, you will work on a wide range of complex transactional and regulatory matters, cross border and domestic M&A and general corporate matters.
You will be involved advising on complex corporate transactions, business structure/ restructure, governance, data privacy, startups, and contract preparation. You will also be afforded opportunities to work with the teams in our Sydney and Melbourne offices (including other practice groups) and benefit from our national practice.
Jeanne has a particular focus on renewable energy, infrastructure, technology, manufacturing and defence sectors.
This is an excellent opportunity to receive hands on mentoring and guidance from a seasoned professional admitted as a legal practitioner in several jurisdictions while you continue to grow your skills and depth of experience in a genuinely supportive environment.
About you Our ideal candidate will have experience in corporate and commercial law matters and foreign investment and/or sound knowledge of the relevant legislation. You will be eager to find a firm where you can continue to grow your career and benefit from opportunities to progress in our Corporate & Commercial practice. This position will suit candidates interested in a varied practice who enjoy the challenge of consistently resolving new legal issues and developing professional relationships with a diverse range of local and international clients.
To be successful in this role, you will possess:
- Excellent communication and drafting skills (proficiency in a language other than English will be highly regarded)
- Natural ability to adapt, communicate and engage with diverse audiences
- Critical and analytical thinking with the capacity to effectively problem solve and demonstrate initiative
- An openness and interest in creative problem solving and trying new techniques to address complex legal issues
- Strong attention to detail
- Excellent organisational skills and ability to multitask and prioritise
- A strong client focus with a passion to deliver on client outcomes
A desire to support and guide less experienced lawyers/ paralegals in the team
