About the Team
Within our Queensland Property practice we have a team, led by Partner, Ron Eames and Special Counsel, Grace Wimberley who work with our clients across a range of capital transactions, energy transition projects, waste and hydrogen projects and finance transactions (project, corporate and property).
The clients the team works with include international and domestic renewable energy developers, listed real estate investment trusts, large commercial property owners, property developers and hotel and resort owners.
The team has seen excellent growth in recent times and as such we are looking to add further to the team.
About the Role
We are now looking for an experienced lawyer to join the team to take the lead on the renewable energy work that the team undertakes. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a team offering genuine career prospects.
Examples of the work undertaken by the team include:
- Land acquisitions and other tenure arrangements for energy transition/renewable energy projects including wind, solar & battery and waste to hydrogen projects
- Drafting and negotiating sale and purchase agreements for significant capital and corporate M&A transactions, including those involving renewable energy projects
- Environmental offset arrangements
- Infrastructure agreements
- Regulatory approvals
- Project financing
- Foreign Investment approval advice and applications
Whilst a Brisbane based role you can expect to be involved in transactions across Australia.
Given the nature of the role we are seeking someone who will build strong relationships with existing clients, whilst also wishing to continue to develop and grow the practice.

The team meet regularly to discuss workflow and offer ongoing support across the matters that you are involved in.
You will be supported by a dedicated team of Associates and Lawyers with experience in the energy transition sector, who you will also mentor and guide.
About You
The ideal candidate will already be operating at SA level and will possess some, if not all, of the following:
- Experience practising as a renewable energy lawyer (including exposure to property work and a willingness to assist as required)
- Strong drafting skills
- Excellent commercial acumen
- Exposure to running files alongside senior lawyers as well as autonomously
- Keen interest in mentoring and training team members
- You must be comfortable working closely with clients
- An eagerness to get involved with industry events and business development opportunities
- Capable of juggling multiple matters and prioritising effectively
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
