Expertech is partnering with a global technology-driven business delivering high-performance infrastructure and platform solutions across complex, production-critical environments. Operating across Sydney, Los Angeles, and Madrid, they support highly collaborative global workflows and large-scale technical operations.

Due to continued growth and strategic transformation, we are seeking an experienced Head of Platforms & Infrastructure to join the leadership team in Sydney. This is an urgent opportunity for a senior technology leader to shape and drive the future direction of our global platforms and infrastructure capability.

This role will lead platform strategy, systems engineering, infrastructure modernization, and major technical initiatives across the business.

Responsibilities

• Define and drive the global Platforms & Infrastructure roadmap across multiple international locations
• Lead major infrastructure and systems engineering projects from planning through to implementation
• Partner closely with R&D, Operations, Production, and Pipeline teams to align technology strategy with business objectives
• Evaluate emerging technologies and contribute to long-term innovation and systems engineering strategy
• Oversee platform performance, scalability, reliability, and operational resilience
• Establish and maintain technology risk management and remediation plans
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing Platforms & Infrastructure team
• Drive cross-functional collaboration and contribute to broader technology and operational leadership discussions
• Champion platform adoption, operational visibility, and continuous improvement initiatives
• Lead teams through operational, technical, and organisational change with clear communication and direction

Skills & Experience

• Extensive experience in infrastructure, systems engineering, or platform engineering leadership roles
• Strong technical background across enterprise infrastructure, hybrid-cloud environments, storage, compute, and systems architecture
• Demonstrated experience leading large-scale infrastructure transformation and modernization initiatives
• Proven ability to build, lead, and scale high-performing technical teams
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-functional leadership capabilities
• Experience operating within fast-paced, globally distributed environments
• Ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on technical leadership when required
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience within production, creative technology, media, animation, VFX, or similarly complex technical environments highly regarded
