AI Engineer – Java/Python, AI/ML Best Practices, Cloud Platforms | Permanent Role | Exciting Scale-Up | Sydney

Expertech are seeking a highly skilled AI Engineer to join a rapidly growing scale-up in Sydney. If you have 1+ years of experience working with cutting-edge AI technologies, including Cursor, AI/ML frameworks, and cloud platforms like GCP Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker, and DataRobot, this is the perfect opportunity to join a talented team driving the future of AI. You will need at least 5 years experience of being a developer or engineer. 

In this permanent role, you will be responsible for building and deploying sophisticated AI solutions, leveraging your expertise in Java/Python, cloud-native architectures, CI/CD pipelines, and model monitoring. You’ll be at the forefront of machine learning engineering, working on impactful projects that shape the AI landscape.
Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and deploy AI models using Python/Java and popular AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Langchain, Hugging Face, and Semantic Kernel.
• Build and maintain cloud-native architectures and microservices, with containerization using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Leverage cloud platforms & ML services such as AWS SageMaker, GCP Vertex AI, and DataRobot to deploy scalable machine learning solutions.
• Implement best practices in AI/ML including model monitoring, CI/CD pipelines, and model versioning to ensure robust, high-performing AI systems.
• Work with Cursor and other data management tools to streamline data processing and ensure data integrity.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, optimize, and deploy AI-driven products and services.
• Monitor, maintain, and optimize models in production, ensuring high availability and minimal latency.

Skills Required:

• 1+ years of experience in AI engineering with a strong focus on Java or Python for developing AI/ML models and backend systems.
• 5+ years as an Engineer or Developer
• Proficiency in using AI frameworks like TensorFlow, PyTorch, Langchain, Hugging Face, and Semantic Kernel.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as GCP Vertex AI, AWS SageMaker, and DataRobot.
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, and model management best practices.
• Strong background in cloud-native architectures, microservices, and containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Expertise in using Cursor for data management and integration into AI systems.
• Solid understanding of machine learning models, data pipelines, and scalable systems.
• Collaborative team player with excellent problem-solving and communication skills.

 
This role is Sydney based with Hybrid working style. The role is open to residents or citizens of Australia only, as the client cannot sponsor for this particular role.
