Our client is a higher education institution based in central London, seeking a Senior HR Business Partner to join their People directorate on a six-month fixed-term contract with potential to transition to permanent. Reporting to the Director of People and managing two HR Managers, you will be the strategic HR lead for the Estates client group, supporting around 1,100 employees across cleaning, security, projects, engineering and maintenance. On a salary of £66,000 to £76,300, working hybrid with three days per week on site, this role offers the chance to shape people strategy, drive meaningful change, and establish yourself as a trusted partner to senior leadership.

• Lead strategic HR for a 1,100-strong Estates client group, managing up to 100 formal and informal employee relations cases at any one time
• Drive organisational change including restructures and TUPE, with extensive union negotiation and stakeholder management
• £66,000 to £76,300, hybrid working (three days on site), 30 days annual leave plus 13 bank holidays and concessionary days

Preferred Requirements

• Proven experience as an HR Business Partner, with a track record of building credible relationships with senior stakeholders
• Strong employee relations expertise, including managing formal and informal casework, investigations, and disciplinary matters
• Extensive experience negotiating and working with trade unions in complex change situations
• Demonstrated capability leading HR change initiatives, including restructures, TUPE transfers, and policy implementation
• Experience supporting an Estates or facilities-type client group is highly advantageous

Preferred Qualifications

• CIPD Level 7 qualification or equivalent professional HR credential
• Background in higher education or a large, complex organisation with multiple stakeholder groups
• Familiarity with people analytics and data-driven decision making in HR
