An established food ingredients manufacturer is looking for a Development Technologist to join its collaborative technical team.

This role has a strong focus on evaluating raw materials, understanding ingredient functionality and optimising existing formulations to improve product quality, consistency and performance. You'll also contribute to new product development and manufacturing improvements.

What you will do:

• Evaluate existing and alternative raw materials, assessing functionality, quality and performance.
• Review and optimise formulations to improve consistency, product performance and cost-effectiveness.
• Plan and conduct laboratory and production trials to assess ingredient changes and validate improvements.
• Investigate formulation and product performance issues, identifying root causes and practical solutions.
• Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Sales and suppliers to implement improvements and support new product development.

About You

We're looking for a technically curious Food Technologist who enjoys understanding how ingredients work together and finding opportunities to improve products.

Ideally, you'll bring:

• A degree in Food Science, Food Technology or a related discipline.
• Approximately 2–5 years' experience in food technology, formulation or product development within food manufacturing.
• Strong knowledge of functional ingredients and how they influence product characteristics and performance.
• Experience evaluating raw materials, modifying existing formulations and conducting practical trials.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a collaborative and hands-on approach.
