We're working with an established manufacturing business in Tauranga, known for their ability to retain staff, to find an experienced Maintenance and Services Planner who knows what good maintenance planning looks like.
This is an opportunity to take ownership of maintenance scheduling and coordination across a busy, 24/7 manufacturing operation. You'll work closely with a skilled maintenance team, ensuring people, parts and resources are in place to keep equipment operating reliably and downtime to a minimum.
We're looking for someone who brings more than just experience using a maintenance system. You'll understand how industrial equipment works, what is involved in maintaining and repairing it, and how to build realistic schedules that account for operational priorities.
You'll need to be organised, forward-thinking and comfortable adapting plans when the unexpected happens.
What you will do:
- Plan and schedule preventative and corrective maintenance across plant, equipment and site services.
- Maintain accurate asset records, maintenance schedules and work orders using the site's CMMS.
- Coordinate major annual and smaller planned shutdowns, including contractors, materials and resources.
- Manage critical spare parts requirements, supplier coordination and maintenance work priorities.
- Work closely with engineering and production teams to improve equipment reliability and minimise downtime.
What we are looking for
- Ideally 4 to 5+ years of genuine maintenance planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong practical mechanical knowledge, ideally backed by an engineering or mechanical trade background.
- Proven experience using CMMS systems to develop maintenance plans, schedule work and manage asset information.
- Experience coordinating shutdowns, contractors and spare parts, with a sound understanding of repair requirements.
- Excellent organisation, communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage changing priorities.
What's in it for you
- Take ownership of maintenance planning across a well-established manufacturing operation.
- Work with an experienced engineering team and a supportive, hands-on Services Manager.
- Enjoy a varied role involving preventative maintenance, shutdowns and continuous improvement.
- Join a business that values safety, teamwork, accountability and doing things right the first time.
- Permanent, full-time opportunity based in Mount Maunganui, with flexibility around working hours.
If you're a maintenance planner who enjoys getting into the detail, understands machinery and takes pride in keeping everything running smoothly, we'd love to hear from you.
