Are you early in your analytical chemistry career and looking for an opportunity where you can continue building your technical skills?

We are working with an established laboratory in Te Puke to recruit an Analytical Laboratory Technician to join their analytical team.  This is a great opportunity for someone with around a year or more of commercial chemistry laboratory experience who wants to develop further as an Analytical Chemist.

You’ll be involved in the full analytical testing process, working with chromatography techniques including GC and LC, while gaining broader exposure to laboratory quality systems, method verification and validation.

What you will do

• Process and prepare samples and reagents for analytical testing.
• Carry out routine and non-routine chemical and physical analyses.
• Operate analytical instrumentation, including GC and LC.
• Interpret test results and escalate unusual findings where required.
• Support verification and validation of analytical test methods.
• Assist with laboratory maintenance, consumables and general laboratory activities.

What we are looking for

• A Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry or a closely related discipline.
• Around one year or more of experience within a commercial analytical laboratory.
• Some practical exposure to chromatography, ideally GC and/or LC.
• A genuine interest in developing your career as an Analytical Chemist.
• A collaborative attitude and willingness to learn from experienced colleagues.
