Are you a science graduate looking for your first step into industry, or perhaps you already have a couple of years’ laboratory or product development experience and are ready for your next opportunity?
We are working with an established Auckland manufacturer looking for an enthusiastic Product Development Lab Technician to join their technical team.
This is a hands-on role where you’ll work alongside experienced chemists and gain exposure to product development, laboratory testing, manufacturing trials and regulatory activities.
Initially starting on a temporary basis, there is genuine potential for this role to become permanent for the right person. More importantly, the team is looking for someone with enthusiasm, curiosity and the drive to learn, there is plenty of scope to develop your technical skills and grow your career.
What you will do
- Support chemists with new product development and continuous improvement projects
- Prepare, produce and test product samples at laboratory and production scale
- Carry out efficacy, stability, quality and physical property testing
- Assist with raw material assessments, manufacturing trials and external laboratory testing
What we are looking for
- A tertiary qualification in chemistry, formulation science or a related scientific discipline
- Practical laboratory skills and confidence following methods, procedures and documentation
- Strong attention to detail with good organisation and accurate record keeping
- Most importantly, enthusiasm, curiosity and a genuine desire to learn and develop
