We are partnering with a well-established New Zealand food manufacturer to recruit an experienced Quality Officer. This is an excellent opportunity for a quality-focused professional who enjoys being close to production, takes pride in maintaining high food safety standards, and thrives in a role where no two days are the same.
Working alongside an experienced Quality team, you'll play a critical role in ensuring products consistently meet customer, regulatory and company quality requirements while supporting continuous improvement across the manufacturing operation.
What you will do:
- Conduct incoming, in-process and finished product quality inspections and testing.
- Complete GMP, pre-start, post-production and food safety verification checks.
- Raise and investigate non-conformances and support corrective actions.
- Perform internal audits, environmental monitoring and calibration checks.
- Prepare product samples and maintain quality documentation, including Certificates of Analysis.
- Complete factory quality checks covering metal detection, sanitation, weights and other critical controls.
- Assess rework and aged stock while promoting GMP, HACCP and food safety compliance across production.
What we are looking for: - Diploma in Food Science or Food Technology.
- Minimum two years' experience in a QA/QC role within food manufacturing.
- HACCP training completed within the past three years.
- Strong understanding of GMP, food safety and quality systems.
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Confidence to influence production teams and support a strong quality culture.
- Competent using Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook.
