We’re currently recruiting for two fantastic temporary opportunities with well-established Auckland manufacturers. These roles are ideal for chemistry graduates, laboratory technicians, or early-career candidates wanting to gain valuable hands-on industry experience.
Both positions offer the chance to build practical laboratory and manufacturing knowledge, work alongside experienced technical teams, and strengthen your CV with highly relevant industry exposure.
Opportunity 1 – Product Development Support Assistant Part Time - Minimum 3 days per week
Pakuranga, Auckland
This role sits within a product development team focused on personal healthcare and consumer products. You’ll support formulation and development activities through routine testing, sample preparation, and stability work.
Key responsibilities include:
- Assisting with preparation and batching of products
- Conducting basic laboratory testing including pH and viscosity
- Supporting product stability testing and documentation
- Working closely with the product development team on day-to-day activities
This is an excellent opportunity for someone wanting exposure to formulation, product development, and consumer healthcare products.
Opportunity 2 - Quality Control Analyst Full TimeMt Wellington, Auckland
Join a busy manufacturing laboratory supporting paint and coatings production. This role offers excellent exposure to industrial chemistry, quality control systems, and laboratory instrumentation.
Responsibilities include:
- Conducting routine quality control testing on raw materials, intermediate batches, and finished products
- Performing laboratory tests including viscosity, density, pH, gloss, and colour assessments
- Recording and maintaining accurate laboratory data and batch documentation
- Setting up, calibrating, and maintaining laboratory equipment
- Supporting investigations into quality issues and product complaints
- Maintaining laboratory housekeeping and supporting safe work practices
- Assisting with quality and continuous improvement initiatives
This role would suit someone interested in coatings, industrial chemistry, manufacturing, or analytical laboratory work.
What we’re looking for: - A qualification in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, Materials Science, or a related field
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- A practical, hands-on approach
- Previous lab experience is helpful but not essential
