We’re partnering with a leading New Zealand food manufacturing business with a dominant position in their chosen sector, now looking to diversify and grow their dry blending capability. This is a genuine greenfield-style opportunity where you will help shape direction, lift capability, and set the standard for future product success.

Working closely with senior leadership, this is a role for a senior Product Development Technologist who can turn ideas into commercially successful products, fast. The business already supplies supermarket own-label and food service channels, and is now focused on getting product performance right first time, strengthening tender outcomes, and building a more strategic product pipeline.

This is not a “watch and wait” environment – you’ll be expected to take ownership, bring structure, and help define what great looks like in dry blends.

What you will do:

• Lead development of dry blend products across bakery and savoury categories
• Improve formulation robustness to ensure strong performance in tenders and customers
• Work closely with commercial and production teams to scale successful products
• Influence product strategy and help shape a growth roadmap for dry blends
• Apply existing knowledge of fats and oils to support broader applications where relevant

What we are looking for:

• Strong experience in dry blending, bakery mixes, or similar formulated products
• Background in product development within food manufacturing (senior level)
• Exposure to fats and oils is highly advantageous
• Commercial mindset with strong customer focus
• Hands-on, practical, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment
• Collaborative style with the ability to influence without ego
