We’re proud to be working with a leading Kiwi manufacturer to secure a high-calibre Maintenance Engineer for their Pokeno site.
This is not your standard maintenance role. You’ll take a holistic view of the production process—analysing machinery performance, identifying inefficiencies, and driving continuous improvement initiatives that enhance plant reliability and output.
Working closely with both maintenance and production teams, you’ll play a key role in ensuring all electrical and mechanical systems are operating at peak performance, while proactively seeking smarter, more efficient ways of working.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and optimising mechanical plant & machinery
- Analysing end-to-end production processes to identify improvement opportunities
- Diagnosing complex faults and implementing long-term engineering solutions
- Collaborating cross-functionally with production and operations teams
- Developing and enhancing preventative maintenance strategies
- Leading and implementing continuous improvement initiatives
- Using performance data to drive efficiency and reliability improvements
- Supporting training on equipment, SOPs, and best practice maintenance
- Managing spare parts procurement and inventory control
We’re looking for someone who’s: - Trade qualified in Mechanical Engineering (NZ recognised)
- Experienced (3+ years) in industrial or manufacturing maintenance environments
- Highly analytical, with a passion for diagnosing whole system performance
- Improvement-focused, with a track record of driving efficiency gains
- Skilled in both hands-on fault finding and strategic problem solving
- Confident communicator who can influence across teams
- Self-motivated, adaptable, and thrives in a fast-paced environment
Why This Role? This is a standout opportunity to step into a role where your ideas and expertise will directly impact plant performance and business success. You’ll be joining a well-established, forward-thinking organisation that values innovation, continuous improvement, and its people.
In return, you’ll receive a competitive hourly rate, strong team culture, and genuine long-term career development opportunities.
