As a specialist recruiter partnering with leading New Zealand manufacturers, we are proud to be supporting a highly regarded food production business to appoint a Food Safety & Quality Specialist into a permanent, long-term position.
This is a busy and highly visible role where you’ll spend meaningful time on the plant floor working alongside operations, not just behind a desk. You’ll play a key part in maintaining compliance, strengthening food safety culture, and driving quality outcomes across the site.
This opportunity will suit someone looking for security, stability, and the chance to make a genuine impact within a supportive and well-resourced manufacturing environment.
What you will do
- Lead internal and external audits, corrective actions, and compliance activities
- Manage customer complaints, investigations, and NCR processes end to end
- Support and maintain RMP, FSSC22000, HACCP, and broader quality system compliance
- Partner closely with production and cross-functional teams to embed food safety culture
- Support product release, supplier assurance, traceability, and recall readiness
- Contribute to continuous improvement and risk-based quality initiatives
What we are looking for
- Proven experience within food manufacturing across food safety or quality roles
- Strong capability in root cause analysis and corrective action management
- Working knowledge of FSSC22000 and RMP requirements
- Experience supporting or leading audits and compliance systems
- Confident communicator able to influence across production and technical teams
- Relevant tertiary qualification beneficial, though strong practical industry experience is equally valued
What’s in it for you
- Permanent role offering genuine long-term stability with a respected NZ manufacturer
- Health insurance subsidy and generous superannuation benefits
- Monday to Friday structure supporting work–life balance
- Hands-on role with real influence on food safety, quality, and operational performance
- Supportive technical and operations leadership team
- Ongoing opportunity to grow capability across audits, compliance, and continuous improvement
