As a recruitment partner to specialist engineering and technical businesses, we are supporting a well-established water analytics provider to secure an experienced casual / part-time Service Technician for the South Island.
This opportunity will suit an EST-qualified technician or electrician who values flexibility. It is ideal for someone running their own business, contracting, or balancing other work commitments.
You will support customers across municipal water treatment, industrial processing, power generation and dairy sites, primarily around Christchurch and surrounding regions, servicing continuous water quality analysers.
What you will do
- Carry out preventative maintenance, servicing and fault-finding on water quality analysers
- Commission new analytical equipment at customer sites
- Respond to service call-outs during business hours, as agreed
- Complete clear and accurate service reports for internal records and regulatory compliance
- Represent the business professionally on site and build strong customer relationships
- Identify future service or upgrade opportunities and flag these to the relevant sales team
What we are looking for
- EST-licensed Electrician, Technician or Engineer
- Ability to work independently while maintaining high professional standards
- Independent contractor or small business in good standing
- Strong communication skills and confidence working with operators, engineers and site managers
- Full New Zealand driver’s licence
- Personable, curious and open to learning specialised equipment and processes
What’s in it for you
- Genuine flexibility to fit work around other jobs or your own business
- Casual, contractor-style engagement with agreed service levels
- Full technical training and ongoing product support provided
- Work with high-quality, Swiss-designed analytical instrumentation
- Varied site work across essential infrastructure and processing environments
- Support from a knowledgeable local and trans-Tasman technical team
This is an excellent opportunity for a technically capable professional who enjoys hands-on work, autonomy and flexibility, without the commitment of a full-time role.
