As a recruitment partner, we are working closely with a well-established engineering consultancy that continues to grow its water treatment capability across New Zealand. They are looking to appoint a Process Engineer who enjoys being involved across the full project lifecycle — from concept and design through to commissioning and handover.

This is a full-time role, based in either Auckland or Christchurch, offering exposure to varied and technically interesting water and wastewater projects.

What you will do

• Review and develop fit-for-purpose process designs aligned with client requirements
• Translate raw data and design briefs into calculations, PFDs, P&IDs, layouts and schedules
• Use appropriate modelling tools to underpin process design decisions
• Support project managers during delivery, ensuring technical integrity is maintained
• Lead or support on-site and remote commissioning activities
• Develop commissioning documentation including plans, ITPs, SATs and reports

What we are looking for

• Experience in the design of water or wastewater treatment processes
• Exposure to project delivery and working alongside project managers
• Ability to interpret technical data and translate it into practical design solutions
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative working style
• Tertiary qualification in chemical, process or environmental engineering (or similar)
