We are searching for an experienced Manufacturing Manager to lead all packing and downstream operations at a major food manufacturing site in Mt Maunganui.

This role calls for a decisive, people-focused manufacturing leader who thrives in a complex, high-volume environment and knows how to elevate team performance — all while keeping efficiency, safety and quality at the centre of every shift.

What you will do

• Lead all packing and downstream operations, ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality output
• Deliver daily production schedules across multiple areas 
• Own KPI performance — OEE, yield, waste, downtime — and drive continuous improvement
• Strengthen operational reliability through reduced stoppages, optimised changeovers and tight cost control
• Build capability across supervisors, team leaders and operators through coaching and structured development
• Champion a strong safety culture, ensuring compliance, incident management and Zero Harm principles
• Partner with Supply Chain, Quality, Engineering and Planning to ensure smooth, uninterrupted production
• Contribute to long-term manufacturing strategy, capacity planning, automation opportunities and future readiness

What we are looking for

• Snr leadership background within food manufacturing, including packing or downstream operations
• Proven ability to lead, motivate and uplift teams — developing leaders to take on more responsibility
• Experience working with automated or semi-automated packaging lines is prefered 
• Skilled in managing budgets, labour planning, material usage and plant performance
• Comfortable in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and continuous improvement expectations
