- Apply consistent performance management to drive accountability, engagement and continuous improvement
- Monitor workforce capacity, forecast resourcing needs and plan proactively to maintain a healthy, high-performing team.
- Build recruitment pipelines and maintain strong relationships to secure quality, values-aligned transport talent
- Manage driver fatigue risks through effective shift planning, scheduling reviews and logbook compliance
- Lead risk assessments and site-specific safety processes, ensuring appropriate inductions, job pricing and methodology development, and hazard management for all transport activities.
- Manage incident response and investigation processes, including product spills and vehicle incidents, liaising with authorities and leading corrective actions.
- Maintain fleet compliance - ensuring vehicle standards, maintenance schedules and certifications are up to date
- Oversee fleet performance, breakdown response, maintenance coordination and supplier relationships
- Manage the fleet replacement programme, including forward planning and capital requests
- Monitor and report fleet data, running costs, incidents and trends to drive continuous improvement
- Use Wastedge, Mango and related systems to strengthen data, visibility, decision-making and operational efficiency
What we are looking for - Minimum 5 years’ experience in transport, logistics, or fleet leadership
- Strong experience managing drivers in compliance-driven environments
- Solid understanding of fatigue, H&S and transport legislation
- Proven background in fleet maintenance planning, contractor management and vehicle replacement programmes
- Experience with operational systems (e.g., Wastedge, Mango or similar)
- Excellent communication and leadership skills - able to coach, motivate and influence
- Calm, decisive, solutions-focused operator with strong planning and organisational capability
- HT licence preferred; relevant qualifications in Transport, Operations or H&S advantageous
What’s in it for you - Influence, impact and visibility as part of the Senior Leadership Team
- A values-driven, agile, family-owned business where people are genuinely known and supported
- Annual profit share opportunity
- A brand-new, leading-edge plant and modern fleet environment
- Strong investment in training, development, and long-term career growth
- The chance to shape a future-focused business driving real sustainability outcomes for NZ
