We are seeking an intermediate-level Quality Technician to join a well-established food manufacturer on a 6-month fixed-term contract, starting immediately. In this role, you will perform basic product testing, support Good Manufacturing Practices, and assist with internal BRC audits.
Our client is a well-established and trusted New Zealand food manufacturer based in Mt Wellington. With over 35 years in the industry, they produce a wide range of high-quality food products across multiple supermarket categories. Known for their commitment to quality, innovation, and strong brand presence, they offer a supportive team environment and modern production facilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out basic product evaluations and testing in line with established protocols and standards
- Support GMP inspections and internal audits to maintain regulatory compliance
- Collaborate with the quality team to troubleshoot and resolve quality-related issues
- Accurately document all testing, inspections, and evaluations
- Escalate quality concerns or deviations to the relevant team members
- Participate in sensory testing of meat products, including beef and bacon
- Assist the Compliance Coordinator in ensuring all paperwork and HACCP requirements are completed and up to date
Qualifications and Experience: This role is ideal for someone with strong communication skills, a proactive attitude, and the ability to work well within a team while effectively reporting quality concerns.
- A tertiary qualification in food science or a related scientific field is preferred
- Previous experience in a quality assurance or quality control role is desirable
- Familiarity with HACCP systems and completing quality documentation is an advantage
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow protocols and procedures accurately
- Understanding of GMP standards and experience with internal audits is preferred
- Sensory testing experience, especially with meat products like beef and bacon.
