We're back with our Alpha Digital pals, and ohhh, have we got a good one for you. A pretty juicy SEO Account Director gig, with a cracking team to lead and plenty of room to bring your own ideas to the table.

Think "I set direction, influence the room and lift an entire department" energy.

Alpha's growing, evolving and thinking bigger about Search and Digital Experience. We're looking for someone who knows SEO inside out, thinks well beyond the SERP and has the leadership chops to take an already strong team to the next level.

If you've been waiting for a gig where your thinking, leadership and ideas can really make a difference, keep on reading…

WHY ALPHA?

If you're stepping in at this level, it needs to be worth it. And this one has plenty going for it.

Alpha Digital has built a pretty impressive rep for doing things properly. Smart strategy, performance that means something and big brands that'll give you plenty to sink your teeth into.

Kmart. Target. General Pants. Nude Lucy. Industrie. Mocka. You get the idea. Some pretty impressive names, plenty of scale and accounts where your thinking and leadership really matter.

And the humans? Some of our absolute faves.

✨ Smart, switched on humans who care about the work
✨ Low ego, high standards and a pretty lovely bunch
✨ Big on learning, sharing ideas and getting better together
✨ Always testing, challenging and looking for a better way

We've partnered with Alpha for many, many years, so we know the people, the business and the plans behind it all. Big ambition, the very best people and plenty to get excited about.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

You'll be leading Alpha's SEO function and playing a big part in growing the Digital Experience offering. Think senior client strategy, developing your crew, growing accounts and driving the strategic, commercial and operational performance of the department.

SEO is your bread and butter. But your brain? A whole lot bigger.

You understand how technical SEO, content, Digital PR, UX, CRO and data fit together. You don't need to be the expert in every discipline, but you know how to bring the right thinking together and turn it into strategy that delivers.

You'll be leading the bigger strategic thinking and conversations across some pretty incredible brands, challenging ideas and working closely with your DX crew and wider Alpha leadership to bring the best ideas to life.

Day to day, you'll be:

• Leading SEO and Digital Experience strategy across major brands, from annual planning through to senior client conversations and QBRs
• Bringing the full hybrid SEO picture together across technical, content, Digital PR and organic growth
• Guiding complex technical work, from migrations and site architecture to crawling, indexation, Core Web Vitals and eCom SEO
• Driving client retention, growing accounts and spotting opportunities to add more value
• Leading your SEO crew, lifting capability and developing future leaders
• Connecting SEO with UX, CRO and data to build smarter Digital Experience strategies
• Improving how the department collaborates and delivers, including using AI and automation to lift quality and efficiency
• Collaborating with wider agency leaders across Paid Media, Strategy and Growth to bring a more connected, omnichannel approach
• Bringing your expertise to pitches, new business and the growth of Alpha's SEO and DX offering

And yes… AEO/GEO and AI Search are a big part of the picture. Alpha's already doing some pretty cool things in this space, and we're keen for someone who's got their finger on the pulse, understands where organic discovery is heading and can lead the team strategically as Search continues to evolve. Not just talking about what's new, but knowing how to turn it into meaningful opportunities for clients.

THE GIG

You'll lead an established SEO crew of Senior Managers, Managers and Executives who already know how to deliver great work. The technical foundations are there. We're looking for someone who can elevate the strategy, develop the people and bring a fresh perspective to an already strong department.

You'll have great leadership around you, but plenty of room to make decisions, back your thinking and lead your crew your way. Close enough to the detail to challenge the work, without needing to be across every audit or deliverable.

And there's plenty happening beyond traditional SEO. Alpha's continuing to build out Digital Experience, with content, CRO, GEO, Digital PR and the future of Search all part of the picture. A whole lot to get your teeth into, with a genuine opportunity to put your own stamp on things.

It's not an "everything's perfect, just keep it ticking" kind of gig. And frankly, where's the fun in that? There's room to challenge existing ways of working and help build something even better.

AND YOU?

You're already operating at Director level, or you're a damn good Senior SEO Manager or Lead who's ready to make the jump.

You've come up through SEO, so you know the detail. Technical, content, strategy, the full hybrid picture. You've done the audits, survived the migrations and know what great SEO looks like in practice.

But these days? Your value goes well beyond knowing which technical issue to fix first. You know how to lead people, influence clients, think commercially and bring a team along with you.

You'll likely bring:

• 7+ years in SEO, ideally with strong agency experience and exposure to senior leadership
• Serious technical and strategic SEO depth, with strong content strategy, on-page optimisation and Digital PR experience
• Experience across complex eCommerce environments, migrations, site architecture and technical SEO challenges
• A good understanding of how SEO fits into the wider Digital Experience picture, including UX, CRO, analytics and the customer journey
• Confidence leading major client relationships, influencing senior stakeholders and driving commercial outcomes
• Proven people leadership, coaching and a knack for making great people even better
• Strong strategic and commercial thinking, with the confidence to challenge ideas and improve how teams work
• A real finger on the pulse of AI Search, AEO/GEO and where organic discovery is heading, with the ability to turn that thinking into strategy and guide a team forward

Screaming Frog, Ahrefs, Semrush, Google Search Console and GA4? You'll know your way around those. But nobody's hiring you at this level because you're the fastest person in the room at running an audit. It's your judgment, leadership and ability to connect the technical detail with the commercial picture that really matter.

You're curious, collaborative and pretty damn good at what you do. You care about the work, you care about your people and you're ready for a gig where your impact goes beyond your own accounts.

PERKS THAT ACTUALLY PERK!

✨ Juicy annual L&D + wellness bonus
✨ Hybrid done right. 3 days in their Bowen Hills HQ, 2 days WFH
✨ 2 weeks working from anywhere each year
✨ Monthly onsite massages in their very own treatment room
✨ Paid parental leave for primary and secondary carers
✨ Loyalty leave that grows with you
✨ Quarterly and annual awards, because great work deserves a lil' love
✨ And yes… plunge pools, sauna, ice baths, snacks and dog friendly vibes. It's a whole thing.

SOUND LIKE A BIT OF YOU?

Big eCom brands. A cracking team. Proper SEO depth. And an opportunity to put your leadership, ideas and experience to very good use. Not too shabby, hey?

If you're ready for a gig where you're doing more than running accounts and managing deliverables, we should probably have a chat. Hit APPLY or come have a chat first. We're very here for that too.
