Already partnered with schools and institutions across Australia and the US, and with a major long-term research collaboration underway with a top US university, and a growing list of customers. With several large-scale projects likely to land before the end of 2025 - the time is now to level-up their tech leadership.
  
The GiG
  
This is a hands-on, full-stack, Technical Lead role with real teeth. We’re after someone who can balance delivery, leadership, and modernisation. Someone who’s technically confident across architecture and code quality, but also deeply passionate about enabling a small team to thrive. 
  
You’ll steer a Senior Developer, collaborate directly with the Founder/ CEO, and help shape the future of both product and tech culture - potentially pulling in external firepower where it counts (think agencies, contractors, or AI/ML partners).
  
Your impact? Helping modernise their product into a beautiful, scalable experience. Creating better bridges between data, backend, and frontend. Elevating UX to match the strength of the IP. And ensuring the product can keep pace with the growing customer base and research opportunities.
  
You're someone who thrives in early-stage chaos, ships with care and speed, and knows how to modernise without breaking momentum.
  
This role is ideal for someone who:

• Is hands-on and full stack, with a frontend lean and a deep appreciation for UX
• Loves shipping fast and smart in high-context environments
• Has an eye for architecture, and is comfortable helping teams navigate tech debt
• Can connect the dots across design, engineering, analytics, and customer value
• Enjoys the pace and ambiguity of start-up SaaS

You’ll be the go-to technical voice in the leadership team - no CTO title on Day 1, but there’s a genuine pathway there for the right person, if you want it.
  
The Tech

Here’s a quick look at the stack:

• Frontend: Vue TypeScript (some legacy React)
• Backend: .NET Core 3.1
• Database: SQL Server, RDS and S3
• Infra: AWS (Docker, ECS, Lambda), Git + Bitbucket, CI/CD pipelines
• Analytics: Python, Athena, Plotly, SageMaker, DynamoDB

The product currently blends multiple data sources (from payroll systems to surveys and strategy builders) - and there’s an opportunity to level up how these systems talk to each other, improve UX consistency, and integrate machine learning models currently running outside the platform.

What They’re Looking For:

• 10+ years of software development experience
• Strong full stack skills, with a frontend or UX lean
• Experience leading other engineers in a hands-on environment
• Comfort with architecture, roadmap shaping, and delivery
• Experience in early-stage or scale-up environments - ideally someone who’s been part of a business journey from $2M to $10M revenue.
• Strong communication and mentorship skills
• Interest or experience in data-rich product environments

Bonus points for:

• Familiarity with AI/ML integration or model deployment (e.g. SageMaker)
• Experience with HRTech, EdTech, or similar purpose-led domains
