Job Description:
As a Software Engineer you will:

• Design and develop next-generation platform services, contributing to a major re-architecture of software platform rather than simply maintaining the existing implementation.
• Develop modern Android-based platform capabilities and APIs/SDKs that allow interactive and application developers to consume aircraft and platform services through clean abstractions.
• Reverse-engineer and modernize existing platform behaviors where necessary, understanding current implementations and translating the required functionality into new platform services and APIs.
• Perform end-to-end integration and validation across SDKs, services, coordinators/operators, hardware adapters, Android applications, aircraft interfaces, and representative rack/test environments.
• Build reusable test applications and automated build infrastructure to exercise platform SDKs and support repeatable platform nightly builds and integration testing.
• Collaborate across Android OS, middleware, platform services, hardware, multimedia, interactive, validation, and architecture teams to resolve architectural dependencies and deliver platform capabilities end-to-end.

 
Qualifications:

• Strong experience with Rust, TypeScript and Kotlin/Java
• Strong understanding of Android internals and experience in Android SDK, NDK, JNI and IPC mechanisms.
• Proficient with AI-assisted software development and testing
• Network programming experience including TCP/UDP/IP
• C programming in Linux, including real time multi-threaded embedded software development
• Proficient with the Linux environment and Open-Source software development tools.
• Experience with creating product solutions that are robust and scalable.
• Solid knowledge of embedded software development concepts
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and make efficient use of given resources such as system lab time and downstream process owners and tasks.
• Plan, design, implement and modify software applications from functional and system design specifications.
• Use expertise, experience, and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
• Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with user-centered, iterative design and development cycles.
• Demonstrated engineering communication expertise including concise written and verbal skills is a must.
