Job Description:

• Vehicle Software Systems Engineering (VSSE) is part of the Systems Engineering Product Driven Organization.
• This department provides software solutions to Product Development (PD) users in the In-Vehicle Electronics organization.
• Power Supply Systems is one of the applications managed by the VSSE team which deals with the end-to-end lifecycle of all the elements used for optimizing vehicle power consumption.
• This is a business-critical application from a engineering efficiency and quality perspective and helps avoid costly stop-ships in the manufacturing plants.
• VSSE is seeking a highly skilled Software Engineer who embraces Lean, Agile, Pair Programming, and Extreme Programming (XP) practices to deliver innovative software products.
• Our Software Engineers work in small, multi-functional, and co-located teams in Dearborn, MI

 
Skills Required:

• Developing web-based applications
• Angular (preferred)
• Typescript, React,or JavaScript
• Flask/Python framework (Preferred), SQL Postgres Database.
• Agile practices (SAFE, Scrum, Kanban, TDD, etc.)- microservice architecture, REST APIs

 
Skills Preferred:

• Cloud platforms;
• Google Cloud Platform
• Object Oriented Programming
• Tekton CI/CD Pipelines knowledge/experience

 
Experience Required:

• 7+ years of professional experience developing web-based applications utilizing Object Oriented development in at least one of the following web or mobile technologies: Angular (preferred), Typescript, React.
• Experience in developing Flask/Python applications, utilizing SQL and cloud technologies.
• At least 5 years of experience in Agile practices (SAFE, Scrum,Kanban, TDD, etc.)
• Experience with microservice architecture, REST APIs ,SOAP/WSDL/XML/SOA, etc

 
Experience Preferred:

• Outstanding software engineering and design knowledge; OO Design Principles Practiced in Test-first/Test Driven Development (TDD)
• 7+ years of Object-oriented Development experience where you applied Python concepts with the following tools and technologies:
• Flask/Python, SQLALchemy, and SQL databases.
• Automated Testing, Continuous Integration, Continuous Deployment, and technologies (Jenkins CI or similar)
• Working knowledge of SQL, PostgreSQL or Oracle Database, including table design, creation, and modification
• Delivered products that include web front-end development , using Angular or React.
• Experience with testing frameworks such as Karma, Jasmine, Pytest.
• Experience conducting code reviews
• Collaborative, positive demeanor, and self-motivated
• Strong communication skills, verbal and written
• Motivated to drive tasks to completion and take ownership of projects
• Any experience in Automotive Industry/ EE Architecture is a BIG Plus

 
Education Required:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or a combination of education and equivalent experience

 
Education Preferred:

• Advance Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field
