Job Description:

Duties:

• The Design Technician will provide design support for the transmission pipeline engineering department utilizing Computer Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Responsibilities include the identification of system materials and their application; engaging in planning and research; providing field design and support for utility systems; adherence to standard work processes; and the application of industry standards.
• The Design Technician will be expected to design a variety of projects complexities ranging from standard to complex, and will frequently coordinate with internal departments, contractors, and leadership to ensure compliance and effective management of project tasks.

 
Skills:

• Design technician must have advanced computer and application knowledge.
• Communication and organizational skills are important for this role.
• Clear and precise drawings are needed to effectively convey the designs to the operational and construction groups.
• The designs this person provide need to be safe, ergonomic, and practical.
• Drafting experience utilizing MicroStation (preferred), AutoCAD, or similar.

 
Education:

• An associates degree in the requisite scientific or technical field.
• Significant years of relevant design experience may be considered in leu of a technical degree.
