Residential Experience Officer – Northamptonshire
Salary: £24,900 – £26,400 per annum
Location: Northamptonshire
Contract: Permanent
Hours: Monday to Friday, approximately 2pm – 9pm
Think FE are working with a well-established and supportive college in Northamptonshire to recruit a Residential Experience Officer to join their student support team.
This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys working with young people, building positive relationships and creating an environment where students feel safe, valued and supported.
You'll play a key role in making residential life a positive and rewarding experience, helping students develop independence, confidence and a sense of belonging.
What You'll Be Doing
- Creating a welcoming, inclusive and safe residential environment for students.
- Organising and supervising social, sporting and volunteering activities to encourage student participation and community engagement.
- Providing pastoral support and acting as a trusted point of contact for students with personal or welfare concerns.
- Promoting positive behaviour, independence and student wellbeing.
- Following safeguarding, health and safety and college policies to maintain a secure and respectful environment.
- Working closely with colleagues, parents and external agencies to ensure students receive appropriate support.
What We're Looking For - Excellent communication and active listening skills.
- Experience working in a similar residential, pastoral, youth work or student support role.
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Confidence in addressing challenging behaviours calmly and professionally.
- A supportive, empathetic approach and the ability to build positive relationships.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion.
