Welding Trainer
Location: Middlesbrough area, North Yorkshire
Salary: £25,100–£34,200 per annum
Contract: Permanent
Hours: 37 hours per week
Annual leave: 30 days plus bank holidays
Think FE is recruiting a Welding Trainer for a well-established further education college in North Yorkshire.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced welding professional to pass on their technical knowledge and help apprentices develop the practical skills required for successful careers in industry. Applications are welcomed from qualified teachers and assessors, as well as experienced welders looking to move into education.
The role
As a Welding Trainer, you will:
- Deliver engaging practical and theory-based welding training.
- Assess learners against relevant standards and qualification requirements.
- Support apprentices throughout their programme, monitoring progress and addressing development needs.
- Maintain accurate assessment and learner records.
- Work closely with employers to ensure training reflects workplace requirements.
- Promote high standards of health, safety and professional practice within the workshop.
- Help learners develop the confidence, skills and behaviours needed to progress in the welding industry.
About you The college is interested in hearing from candidates who have:
- A Level 3 welding qualification or equivalent industry experience.
- Strong, current knowledge of welding techniques and industry practice.
- The ability to communicate technical information clearly and effectively.
- A commitment to supporting learners from a range of backgrounds.
- A recognised teaching or assessing qualification, ideally with recent industry experience.
Experienced Level 3 welders who have trained or mentored apprentices are also encouraged to apply. Candidates currently working in industry who are willing to gain teaching and assessing qualifications will be considered.
