Horticulture Trainer/ Assessor 

Location: Greater Manchester
Contract Type: Permanent
Salary: £26,800–£32,600 (Pro Rata, Part time 0.5 – Actual Salary up to £16,400)

The Opportunity An Ofsted-rated ‘Good’ college in Greater Manchester is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and engaging Horticulture Apprenticeship Assessor to support the delivery of their Level 2 apprenticeship provision. This is a part-time, permanent opportunity ideal for someone passionate about skills-based learning and experienced in workplace assessment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Delivering structured group sessions to apprentices on the Level 2 Horticulture Apprenticeship Standard
• Conducting on-site workplace assessments to ensure apprentices meet required competencies
• Completing reviews and setting SMART action plans to guide apprentice progress
• Keeping accurate records and tracking progression to support timely achievement

What We’re Looking For To be considered for this role, you will need:

• A Level 3 Assessor qualification 
• A Level 3 Teaching qualification
• A minimum Level 3 qualification in Horticulture, ideally a HND or higher
• If you don't hold a teaching or assessing qualification you are welcome to still apply 
• A good understanding of apprenticeship standards and vocational training
• A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle, as site visits are a key part of the role
