About the opportunity
We’re seeking an experienced Management Accountant to join our Corporate Services Division on a 6-month contract. You’ll work in partnership with senior leaders and service owners to deliver high‑quality financial insight, support informed decision‑making, and maintain strong financial governance. The role is hands‑on and varied which includes budgeting and forecasting, management reporting, month‑end financial processes, and revenue and invoicing compliance. In addition to supporting financial management of projects and scope to contribute to business cases and continuous improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Developing, managing and monitoring detailed budgets and forecasts across services, cost centres and funding streams.
- Support annual budget, reforecast and planning cycles within funding constraints.
- Prepare monthly management accounts, variance analysis and commentary, ensuring financial results accurately reflect operational activity and funding arrangements.
- Prepare month-end journals, accruals and cost allocations, partnering with cost centre owners to resolve discrepancies and maintain data integrity.
- Review month-end financial results, including accruals, adjustments and allocations, to ensure accuracy and completeness.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives to enhance month end processes and reporting timelines.
You’ll bring - Advanced Excel skills, with confidence working in complex spreadsheets, models and reports
- A relevant tertiary qualification in accounting, completed CPA or CA
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate complex financial information into clear, practical insights for non‑finance stakeholders
- Experience working within a complex organisational environment, with multiple stakeholders and priorities
- Strong analytical capability, including experience analysing and interpreting financial data and performing reconciliations
- Proven ability to develop budgets, forecasts and cost or pricing models to support business cases and informed decision‑making
