We are currently seeking a part time (30.4 hours per week) Laboratory Assistant to join our diverse team on a 12 month fixed term contract, with the possibility of extension. This role is responsible for ensuring accurate completion of testing various raw materials and fired products received by the production plants.
Your role will include:
- Comply and actively participate in Midland Brick’s strong safety culture and adhere to workplace safety standards;
- Testing raw materials (particle size, pH, conductivity) and provide timely and accurate results;
- Conduct analytical and physical testing with specific equipment and methodologies;
- Assist in data entry for all monitoring and verification activities as required;
- Sample and transport products from within the plant or manufacturing facilities to the laboratory;
- Work effectively within a team as well as independently to meet operational needs.
Skills and Experience: - Laboratory experience in raw materials / destructive testing (desirable),
- Current WA manual driver’s licence (essential),
- Forklift licence (desirable),
- Ability to work autonomously but also contribute to a strong team environment,
- Positive work ethic and strong attention to detail,
- Good verbal and written communication skills,
- Intermediate competency with MS Office suite (especially excel and outlook),
- Physically fit to enable lifting of blocks, bricks and pavers.
