We are recruiting for a Mechanical Engineer to join a well-established facilities management team, working across a large commercial campus environment.
 
This is a newly created position, offering the opportunity to join an excellent facilities team and play a key role in keeping critical mechanical and building services systems operating safely and efficiently.
 
About the Role

• As a Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for planned and reactive maintenance across the site, carrying out fault finding, repairs and general mechanical building services maintenance.
• The role will involve working with a range of mechanical systems, including plumbing, heating, pumps, motors, belts and actuators, as well as carrying out water sampling.
• About You
• We are looking for an experienced Mechanical Engineer with a strong background in commercial building services maintenance.

You will ideally have:

• Minimum Level 2 NVQ in Plumbing or another relevant mechanical discipline.
• Strong fault-finding, maintenance, installation and inspection/testing experience.
• Previous experience carrying out both PPM and reactive maintenance.
• Experience working within FM or building services across commercial properties.
• Good knowledge of commercial plumbing and heating systems.
• Experience with pumps, motors, belts and actuators.
• Experience with water sampling.
• A strong understanding of Health & Safety procedures, including risk assessments and method statements.
• Full UK driving licence.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) in line with schedules and engineering standards.
• Respond promptly and effectively to reactive maintenance issues and helpdesk requests.
• Complete fault finding, diagnostics and repairs on mechanical plant and building services systems.
• Coordinate initial actions for client requests and engineering-related issues.
• Manage and supervise specialist subcontractors carrying out PPM and reactive works.
• Ensure all works are completed safely and in line with relevant procedures and standards.

Working Hours & Package

• Monday to Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm.
• £38,000 - £42,500 basic salary.
• Healthcare package.
• At least 1 day per week working at sites in Cambridge. Company van provided for this day
• Potential for additional call-out/on-call work, with a proposed £150 weekly uplift for a week on call.
• Enhanced DBS required.
