Our client specializes in engineered-to-order solutions for utilities, industrial facilities, data centers, renewables, mining, and other heavy-power environments.
We are seeking a Project Manager who can lead complex electrical equipment projects from design through delivery, ensuring they meet customer specifications, quality requirements, timelines, and budget targets.
Position Summary
The Project Manager oversees the full lifecycle of multiple custom equipment projects, coordinating engineering, procurement, manufacturing, testing, logistics, and customer communication. This role requires someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, where products are highly customized, lead times are compressed, and customer responsiveness is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all project phases, from order entry to final shipment and customer hand-off.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and deliverable timelines.
- Act as the central point of contact between the customer and internal teams.
- Coordinate with engineering on design requirements, drawings, and technical clarifications.
- Work with procurement and supply chain to track materials, component orders, and vendor timelines.
- Ensure seamless communication with manufacturing, testing, quality assurance, and shipping.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, delays, scope changes, or cost impacts.
- Prepare and deliver regular status updates to internal leadership and customers.
- Manage documentation, change orders, technical notes, and project files.
- Oversee project close-out activities, including customer sign-off, lessons learned, and hand-off to after-sales/warranty teams.
Qualifications - 5–7+ years of project management experience in power systems, switchgear, transformer manufacturing, electrical OEM equipment, substations, or similar engineered-to-order environments.
- Strong technical understanding of power distribution equipment and electrical industry standards.
- Proven ability to manage multiple complex projects with tight deadlines.
- Exceptional communication, leadership, and customer-facing skills.
- Proficiency with project management tools and ERP/MRP systems.
- Ability to travel periodically for customer meetings, factory visits, or field coordination.
Preferred Qualifications - Experience with ISO-9001, lean manufacturing, or continuous-improvement environments.
- Background supporting utility, renewable energy, data center, or industrial customers.
