Manager – Data Center Operations
Job Type: Full-time, Direct Hire
Hours: 10 PM - 6 AM
Salary, Exempted + Bonus + Equity
Location: Northern Virginia, Data Center Alley

Are you a skilled leader with a strong technical background in data center operations? We are seeking a Manager – Data Center Operations to oversee the operational efficiency, uptime, and reliability of a cutting-edge data center. In this role, you will lead a team of professionals and manage critical infrastructure, including electrical, mechanical, security, fire life safety, and communications systems.

What You’ll Do:

• Oversee all aspects of data center operations, ensuring maximum efficiency and uptime.
• Manage electrical systems (UPS, generators, power distribution) and mechanical systems (HVAC, CRAC/CRAH, chilled water).
• Ensure security, fire life safety, and structured cabling infrastructure meet the highest standards.
• Lead and mentor a team, providing training, performance evaluations, and career development.
• Work closely with vendors, manage contracts, and oversee maintenance programs.
• Develop and implement operational strategies for cost efficiency and innovation.
• Maintain compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and customer agreements.
• Assist in budget planning for OPEX and CAPEX, ensuring financial goals are met.
• Lead customer meetings, facility tours, and technical discussions.

What We’re Looking For:

• 7-10+ years of experience in data center operations, critical infrastructure, or similar environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical, mechanical, and security systems.
• Experience managing maintenance programs, vendor contracts, and compliance audits.
• Excellent leadership skills with a proven track record of managing teams.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of industry standards such as NFPA, NEC, and OSHA.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-stress environment with changing priorities.
