Sales Development Representative (SDR) – Los Angeles
Company Overview:
Our client is a leading global provider of temporary event power generation, power distribution, HVAC, and other technical services for music festivals, film & broadcast, major events, and industrial projects.
Position Overview:
Our client is seeking a highly motivated Sales Development Representative (SDR) to conduct national sales outreach and pursuit. This position involves researching and engaging potential clients to provide Outside Sales Representatives with leads and introductions for events and large gatherings that are not currently serviced. Additionally, the SDR will work on outside sales efforts locally, capitalizing on the growing events market, with a focus on providing power solutions for major events and rentals. Key Responsibilities (70% National or Western Region Focus):
- Research, identify, and pursue new business opportunities for Outside Sales Representatives nationwide.
- Engage with tent and production companies across the country to provide power and HVAC solutions for outdoor events, conventions, and festivals.
- Identify opportunities in large-scale regional events requiring temporary power and HVAC solutions.
- Assist in processing rental quotations, reservations, and contracts for event and industrial projects, ensuring timely responses and client satisfaction.
- Track sales activities using CRM software and manage client accounts.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to develop effective sales strategies for both event and industrial markets.
- Provide regular sales performance and market penetration reports to management.
- Serve as the voice of the customer (VOC), providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Participate in ongoing sales training to enhance skills and career development.
Key Responsibilities (30% Local Market Focus): - Identify and pursue new business opportunities in the local market and surrounding areas.
- Build strong relationships with local event organizers and vendors to establish our client’s presence.
- Engage with local tent and production companies to provide power and HVAC solutions for outdoor events, conventions, and regional festivals.
- Explore opportunities in state fairs and large-scale regional events requiring temporary power and HVAC solutions.
- Process rental quotations, reservations, and contracts for event and industrial projects, ensuring client satisfaction.
- Track sales activities using CRM software and manage client accounts.
- Collaborate with marketing and operations teams to develop effective sales strategies for the local event and industrial markets.
- Provide regular reports on sales performance and market penetration in the local area.
- Source, develop, and close new business opportunities.
- Maintain and grow relationships with key accounts, ensuring long-term partnerships and customer satisfaction.
- Serve as the VOC, providing feedback for continuous improvement.
- Drive recurring business through strong client relationships.
- Manage an expense account and utilize company resources to maximize sales potential.
- Participate in ongoing sales training to enhance skills and career development.
Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 3+ years of progressive inside sales experience, preferably in power, HVAC, and/or equipment rental.
- Experience with live events and the entertainment industry is a plus. Familiarity with event production is beneficial.
- Proven track record of achieving sales targets in both event and industrial rental markets.
- Strong understanding or ability to quickly grasp the technical requirements of power and HVAC for industrial projects and outdoor events.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to engage both industrial clients and event organizers.
- Self-motivated, with a strong work ethic and the ability to build and expand a market independently.
- Proficient in using CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
